Every day a holiday

It was love at first sight for Kristy Carr when she found her stunning house on Sydney’s Northern Beaches that offered everything from breathtaking views to holiday-style luxury.

Kristy Carr saw a fabulous Newport home at noon one beautiful spring day in November 2013 and owned it 5pm! “The moment I walked through the entrance onto the deck overlooking the ocean and Balinese pool, I knew I had found our dream home,” says Kristy, co-founder of organic bubs, Australia’s leading brand of organic pouch baby food and goat infant formula. “My husband was overseas at the time but luckily we share the same tastes when it comes to property and he also instantly fell in love.”

Built into a rock cliff, the property stretches over four levels with five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a commercial-grade lift to make the climb a little easier. The top level comprises a spacious open-plan kitchen/lounge/dining area with floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors opening to a large deck with 180-degree views of the ocean. This level is bright and open thanks to high ceilings, frosted-glass roof panels and glass louvres plus a northerly aspect offering sun all day. As well as flowing out to the deck with its relaxed dining setting and automated cover, this space opens onto a palm-filled internal courtyard, which it shares with the home office and entrance hall. Here a built-in daybed and water feature provide a quiet, sun-filled spot for reading or indulging in an afternoon siesta. All bedrooms are located on the middle level with the two master rooms opening onto a private deck, directly under that of the living area. The ground level features an open-plan entertainment room with bar, movie screen and lounge that opens out to the pool area where a Balinese-style wet-edge heated pool and cabana complete the picture of holiday relaxation. And then there’s the lower ground level, which offers an area for children with lawn and play equipment. Nothing has been forgotten in this magnificent beachside property and while it comfortably accommodates nine guests, it can just as easily entertain many more.
